An Enjoyable Ride

Hop on Utah’s Subway, but don’t make it a one-way destination. If you’re lucky enough to obtain a permit, peek around each bend. Explore. Find beauty in the cracks. Squeeze yourself into the narrow canyon walls. Slow down. Enjoy this true desert oasis.

The dark and dank corridor of the Left Fork allows just a touch of spring to creep into the canyon.

A wonderful time to reflect. The canyon walls of Zion National Park’s wild side glow from the rising sun.

The hike isn’t always easy. I’ve gotten turned around more than once over the years. But if you get a permit, you go. It’s a golden ticket to paradise.

Lightning Strikes

Some of the oldest shots in my portfolio came from Utah. In many regards, it’s where I started. I vividly remember leaving for a trip to Moab in June 2015. A month prior I had left to explore Zion National Park for the first time. I was feeling mixed emotions. Tears welled up in my eyes as I departed home. I asked myself what I was doing because I was confused. This photography and living on the road stuff was hard. But I felt called. I bore witness to some extraordinary events that trip. I received the message. I was on the right path.
